The New Forest National Park is home to many things, beautiful landscapes, free roaming animals and many artisan products.
Dickies Dribble and Harrow Wood Farm cider being one of the newer artisan products to come onto the market.
Now for all you English teachers out there, I know there is no apostrophe on "Dickies," and that is because I forgot to put one in when I trademarked it!
Harrow Wood Farm is situated in the village of Bransgore and set in 100 acres of mixed farmland and woodland with a small touring caravan site set in 6 acres.
The soils are very poor and consist of gravel over clay so crops are either slow to grow or need high inputs of fertiliser.
Trees, however, seem to grow relatively well and with the addition of a foliar feed from time to time the apple trees are developing well.
The cider is only for sale locally and from my site reception as I have no intention of producing over 70 hectolitres as I will have created a beast that needs feeding and the fun will be taken out of it.
My aim is to produce an excellent cider of high quality and complex taste.
